Weeks before the Great Canadian Fit Fest 2017, I heard the founders were in need of a public relations professional to help them write a media release. I contacted them and offered to put one together for them. I put together a media contact list and press release.

The press release was successful. Multiple reporters were spotted at the FitFest throughout the weekend.

In winter 2017, I competed in the Advertising Club of Edmonton Student Ad Campaign Competition. In this event, we were teamed up with one other student and a mentor who currently works in the advertising industry in Edmonton. Our assignment was to create an advertising campaign for the Jasper Place Wellness Centre. This experience was an excellent opportunity for me to learn about the advertising world and what it takes to create an effective ad campaign on a small budget. My team did everything from key messaging, to demographic analysis, to ad, logo and poster design. Click the button below to see our ad. 

In 2013, I was honoured to be nominated and selected to sit on the Youth Advisory Panel for Alberta. That year I met with MLAs, the Chair of the Youth Secretariat and other political figures every few months to identify and discuss challenges facing youth in Alberta. During the Panel meetings, I was presented with a series of issues and problems, then conducted the necessary research to present my findings and opinions on how the lives of young Albertans are affected. Then, as a panel, we would discuss possible solutions and legislation to mediate the issues at hand.

This experience was exciting and challenging as I had to think critically about large, complex issues that would directly affect our provinces well-being.
