This is a research paper I wrote in my third semester of university. I received an A on this assignment and positive feedback from my professor. I find communications research absolutely fascinating and look forward to pursuing it more during my masters degree. This paper exemplifies my ability to conduct research to support my claims and write academically.

In my sixth semester of university, my team (pictured on the right is Me, Rob, and Virginia) created a Strategic Communications Plan for RISE (Reconciliation in Solidarity in Edmonton). We had the option of creating a communications plan for a hypothetical organization, but instead my group chose a real non profit that was in need of assistance.

In my portion of the assignment, I focused on creating a strategic social media plan for the non profit on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I conducted research to support my recommendations on when and what to post so the organization could effectively connect with settler Canadians, new Canadians and aboriginal Canadians. I included this project in my portfolio because it shows my ability to tackle an extremely complex communications issue with my skills, knowledge and passion.
